Home

This is where I grew up. A little town of 1,000 in the NW corner of Ohio. The house above is the actual house I grew up in. The window on the left was mine, the room now belongs to my little niece. My brother bought the house from my parents several years ago and my parents built next door. This picture is taken from my parents very long lane that you saw in yesterdays post. Their new house sits even farther back from the road than the old one. The following pictures were all taken from that lane.

This is the new house, I was probably only half way down it when I took this. It's seriously long people.

Add to the list of things I love, barns and combines. Oh and quiet, add that too. The night I took these was truly beautiful, as was every night we were there. The light, the stillness, it was golden, literally. It can sometimes be a wind tunnel out there in the country, but not this week. Beautiful days and really beautiful nights. We had a great time soaking it all up, yes, there were business dealings and e-mails to attend to, but the stillness was good for the soul. We got home last night and discovered that there will be no offer on the house, not from that person anyway. I can't say that I wasn't bummed. We had a small window of time that we could have used to move. That window will disappear all together very soon. It would have worked out according to my timing, but we all know that God's timing is better. I'm going to stop thinking about it now, just live in the here and now, take care of the things that I can, and not worry over the things that are a mystery. I know, easier said than done, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. So thanks for visiting the homestead with me, I would take you all there in person if I could. Have a two hot-dog weekend every one.
